In June 2015, PNE WIND UK Limited was acquired by Brookfield Renewable, and is now known as Brookfield Renewable UK Limited. All materials and applications related to projects will now be under the Brookfield brand.

We are currently working in close partnership with the Forestry Commission Scotland (FCS) to bring forward proposals for the North Hill Wind Farm.

We have been undertaking a range of feasibility assessments to understand the suitability of the site for wind farm development. We are now able to progress with the comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), which includes bird, mammal, habitat and landscape surveys. This will help us to ensure the Wind Farm will feature a design sensitive to the natural features of the site. The findings of the EIA will be presented as an Environmental Statement (ES), which we would submit alongside any future planning application.

There is currently a Meteorological Mast on site which will measure wind speeds on site.

A copy of the scoping report along with the site location and turbine layout maps are available to view in the downloads section below.

We will create a Community Liaison Group (CLG) to ensure that the proposed development for North Hill Wind Farm takes account of local people's views. The CLG will receive regular project updates and input into all aspects of the Wind Farm's development. Further information and minutes from these meetings will be made available to view here in due course.

The renewable energy programme planned on the National Forest Estate is a new opportunity designed to ensure that communities have flexibility in how they benefit from development in their area. Fur further information please visit our FAQ page.
